New Riff Single Barrel Bourbon is exactly what it sounds like. One barrel, tasted and approved on its own, bottled straight from the cask at full barrel proof. No blending other barrels in to smooth things out, no water added unless you add it yourself. This particular barrel was laid down in 2017 and rested in new, charred oak before it was hand-picked for The Prime Barrel's single-barrel program and bottled in 2021.

Distillery Information

New Riff Distilling is based in Newport, Kentucky, just across the river from Cincinnati. Ken Lewis started the place in 2014 with a simple rule. Nothing gets released until it's good enough to be Bottled in Bond, so the first bottles didn't land until the whiskey hit four years old. That same standard runs through the Single Barrel program. Every barrel is tasted by the production team before it's approved, and this one made the cut.

New Riff bottles everything non-chill-filtered and skips the shortcuts a lot of newer distilleries lean on. What's in the barrel is what ends up in your glass.
