Don Julio Tequila is produced at Destilería La Primavera in Atotonilco el Alto, Los Altos de Jalisco, founded in 1942 by Don Julio González at age 17 and now owned by Diageo. One of the first brands to establish premium sipping tequila, Don Julio uses 100% Blue Weber Highland agave, traditional horno cooking, and double distillation in copper pot stills. The range spans Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, Rosado (port wine cask finish), and the iconic 1942, aged a minimum of two and a half years.
