Kentucky Owl has become renowned distiller. Since is death during prohibition, it was relaunched by the family in 2014. Since its relaunch the company, while purists are not afraid to innovate and try extend the brand to extended markets. One method was to create a brand for Gen Z's and Millennial's and those who demanded quality, but were not comfortable paying $200.
The Wiseman Bourbon
The first permanent release under Master Blender John Rhea, previously from Four Roses. The Wiseman Bourbon Whiskey is made from four Kentucky Straight Bourbons selected for their individual taste. This is a collaboration between Kentucky Owl and the Bardstown Bourbon Company.
The Wiseman Bourbon has been recognised for its outstanding quality and is the winner of numerous awards including Double Gold at the San Francisco World Sprits Competition in 2023 & 2022, Gold at the TAG Global Spirits Awards in 2023, and Gold at the Ascot Awards in 2023. The Wiseman Bourbon has also been awarded 95 points by Tasting Panel magazine.
The Wiseman Rye
this rye whiskey has a specific Proof/ABV for something more approachable. The Wiseman Straight Rye Whiskey is a traditional Rye made with a mash bill of 95% Rye. a 95/5 rye whiskey is always going to get us interested.
A 95% rye whiskey originating from Kentucky is somewhat surprising, and compared to Ross & Squibb’s or WhistlePig’s high rye flavour profiles this yields an even more surprising result - The Wiseman Rye doesn’t taste anything like you would expect it to. It offers obvious spice notes, but leans in heavily towards its sweeter side
