Penelope Cigar Sessions Chapter 1 is the first release in Penelope's new Cigar Sessions series, a whiskey built from the ground up. Penelope's blending team teamed up with two renowned cigar master blenders, working through 19 different mash bills before landing on this one.

It's a three way blend of straight bourbon, American single malt and American light whiskey, each aged a minimum of six years. The bourbon component picks up extra time on French oak staves before it goes into the blend, then everything's brought together and bottled at 101 proof (50.5% ABV). Chapter 1 is out now as a limited release.

Distillery Information

Penelope Bourbon was started in 2018 by Mike Paladini and Danny Polise, named after Paladini's daughter. Every drop is distilled at the Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. MGP Ingredients picked up the brand through its Luxco arm in 2023, but Paladini and Polise are still running the show.
