Old Forester 80 Proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whisky is the export-strength pour from the bottle that started American bourbon history. Founded in 1870 by George Garvin Brown, Old Forester was the first bourbon ever sold exclusively in sealed glass bottles, and it's the only bourbon made continuously by its founding family before, during and after Prohibition. It's still made today at Old Forester's own distillery in Louisville, Kentucky.

Built on a classic mash bill of corn, rye and malted barley, and matured in new charred American oak. Bottled at 40% ABV for markets outside the US, it carries the same honest, no-frills character Old Forester's known for, just at an easier-drinking strength. A solid bottle for a first taste of bourbon history or a regular pour on the shelf. 

 

Tasting Notes
  • Nose: Citrus and tropical fruit with a touch of floral sweetness, pound cake and light toasted oak
  • Palate: Citrus zest and ripe pear up front, with fresh mint and a bit of clove spice
  • Finish: Fresh spearmint and clove spice, backed by warm toasted oak
