Jefferson's was founded in 1997 by Trey Zoeller and his father, Chet. The brand explores blending and maturation through releases including Ocean Aged at Sea, which takes whiskey barrels on ocean voyages before bottling them as numbered releases.

Voyage 28 departed from Savannah, Georgia, and travelled around the world, including a visit to Australia, before returning home.
