Overview

Jameson Cold Brew is the marriage of Ireland's best-selling Irish whiskey with specialty cold brew coffee - a combination that sounds like a cocktail concept and drinks like one, but comes pre-blended and ready to pour. At 30% ABV, it sits between a standard spirit and a liqueur, with enough whiskey character to stand up in drinks while the cold brew adds a genuinely distinct layer of roasted, chocolatey depth.

This isn't a flavoured whiskey in the syrupy sense. The cold brew element is restrained and integrated - think mocha and dark chocolate rather than coffee candy. It's a smart product for the coffee-cocktail crowd and one that earns its place behind any bar, whether making espresso martinis or cold-brew highballs.

Tasting Notes

NOSE - Fresh and inviting. Cold brew coffee leads - roasted, slightly sweet, and clean - with vanilla, caramel, and a hint of toasted oak underneath. The whiskey lifts it with a gentle cereal note and light dried fruit.

PALATE -Smooth and medium-bodied. Mocha and dark chocolate upfront, layered with caramel sweetness and the classic Jameson vanilla and toasted grain. A touch of pot-still spice comes through on the mid-palate, keeping it from becoming one-dimensional. Well-integrated - the coffee and whiskey feel like they belong together.

FINISH - Medium length, clean, and lightly sweet. Lingering notes of roasted coffee and vanilla, with a soft, warming whiskey fade. Doesn't overstay its welcome.

Distillery Information

The whiskey foundation is Jameson - triple distilled at Midleton Distillery in County Cork by Irish Distillers, a subsidiary of Pernod Ricard and the producer behind most of Ireland's major whiskey brands. Midleton is one of the most technically advanced distilleries in the world, capable of producing a remarkable range of styles from a single site.

The cold brew coffee is sourced from specialty roasters and cold-steeped before being blended with the whiskey. The process preserves the coffee's natural sweetness and low-acid character - the same qualities that make cold brew a better match for spirits than hot-brewed coffee. The result is a collaboration between two of Ireland's most recognisable exports: whiskey and a growing craft coffee culture.

How to enjoy

Exceptional over ice - pour straight over a large cube and let it open up as it dilutes slightly.

BUT it's here, it's a winner!!! Makes a dead-simple espresso martini: combine with a shot of espresso and a splash of sugar syrup, shake hard, and strain. Brilliant in a cold brew highball: 50ml Jameson Cold Brew over ice, topped with sparkling water and a twist of orange. Also works nicely as an after-dinner drink for anyone who'd normally reach for a digestif. Chill the bottle in the fridge before serving - the coffee character comes alive when it's cold.

Why we curate it

We recommend Jameson Cold Brew for customers who want:

  • A genuinely easy espresso martini or coffee cocktail base - no cold brew to source separately, no fussing with ratios
  • A whiskey with real coffee character that isn't overwhelmingly sweet or artificial tasting
  • Something approachable for whiskey newcomers who already love coffee - an on-ramp that doesn't taste like a compromise
  • A lower-ABV option that still works on the rocks or in a tall glass over ice

If you're regularly making espresso martinis or cold brew highballs, this simplifies your setup considerably. If you're buying a gift for someone who drinks both coffee and whiskey, it's a reliable hit.
