Distillery Information

GlenDronach is a Highland Scotch whisky distillery located near Huntly in Aberdeenshire, founded in 1826. It is best known for its rich, heavily sherried style. Unlike many distilleries that lean on ex-bourbon casks, GlenDronach matures much of its whisky in Spanish Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, giving its expressions deep notes of dried fruit, dark chocolate, toffee, and Christmas cake.

The distillery experienced periods of closure and changes in ownership throughout the 20th century, but its reputation was significantly revived after 2008 under the BenRiach Distillery Company (later acquired by Brown-Forman in 2016), which invested heavily in cask quality and single-cask releases.
