George Remus Straight Bourbon Whiskey is a high-rye bourbon with a bold flavour and a rich backstory, named after the infamous “King of the Bootleggers” during Prohibition. Produced by MGP (Midwest Grain Products) at their historic distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, this bourbon is a celebration of classic American whiskey-making — and it delivers both power and finesse in every sip. MGPr recently changed its name to Ross & Squibb Distillery.
George Remus is bottled at 94 proof (47% ABV), it features a mash bill with a higher rye content, giving it a spicy kick balanced by layers of sweetness. On the nose, you’ll find vanilla, maple, and toasted oak, with subtle hints of spice and caramel. The palate is full-bodied and smooth, offering flavours of toffee, dried fruit, baking spice, and a touch of cinnamon.
