Elijah Craig 18 Year Old is bottled from one barrel, not blended with anything else, and it's one of the oldest bourbons Heaven Hill regularly puts out. Only a small fraction of their barrels make it this far without being pulled by the master tasters, and every bottle has its own barrel number and dump date handwritten on the label.

Two decades in new charred oak means this one is heavily influenced by wood: aged oak, spiced vanilla and a tannic dryness that builds through the finish. It's built for drinkers who genuinely enjoy that oak-forward character.

Distillery Information

Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky has been ageing barrels toward this release for the better part of two decades. Master tasters sample barrels throughout maturation, and even after 18 years some don't make the cut. The ones that do are individually dumped and bottled, named after Reverend Elijah Craig, one of bourbon's founding figures.
