Shenk’s Homestead Distillery Sour Mash Whiskey honours the legacy of historic American whiskey figure John Shenk, who founded a distillery in 1753 that became known as Michter’s in the 20th Century. It is made in Kentucky using the traditional Sour Mash process, in which a portion of the previously distilled whiskey mash (referred to as “setback”) is added to the next batch. This full-bodied small-batch whiskey is 91.2 proof.

Shenk’s is a Sour Mash Whiskey made with a substantial amount of rye. 2025 release finished in toasted-only French oak, no char, to sharpen the rye spice; a bolder and spicier profile than earlier Shenk's Homestead releases. Full-bodied and small-batch.
