The first permanent release under Master Blender John Rhea, this rye whiskey has a specific Proof/ABV for something more approachable. The Wiseman Straight Rye Whiskey is a traditional Rye made with a mash bill of 95% Rye. a 95/5 rye whiskey is always going to get us interested.
A 95% rye whiskey originating from Kentucky is somewhat surprising, and compared to Ross & Squibb’s or WhistlePig’s high rye flavour profiles this yields an even more surprising result - The Wiseman Rye doesn’t taste anything like you would expect it to. It offers obvious spice notes, but leans in heavily towards its sweeter side
