An exceptionally rare vintage, the 1974 18-year-old Macallan Sherry Wood Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky was bottled in 1994 without any added coloring or chill filtration. This 750ml retail bottling, at 43.0% vol., is now considered one of Macallan's particularly rare original releases from the early 1970s.
The 18-year-old Macallan, matured in Oloroso sherry oak, is part of the series that established Macallan's almost legendary reputation for its pure sherry cask bottlings. It was in the mid-1960s that Macallan shifted its focus to sherry cask-matured single malts, quickly gaining recognition among whisky enthusiasts worldwide due to its unique cask policy.
