Siete Leguas Añejo Tequila 700ml
Overview
Siete Leguas Añejo is a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila made the traditional way in the Highlands town of Atotonilco el Alto, then aged in American oak. Brick ovens, wooden tank fermentation with the agave fibers in the mix, and double distillation in copper pot stills.
Around 18 to 24 months in oak builds proper depth: vanilla, caramel, dried fruit, and warm spice, but the agave still leads. A rich, smooth añejo with real character. Built for slow sipping.
The Distillery
NOM 1120 is Tequila Siete Leguas, with two distilleries on the same hill in Atotonilco el Alto. Fabrica el Centenario was built in 1952 and still uses a tahona stone wheel pulled by mules to crush the agave. Fabrica La Vencedora came along in 1984 and is slightly more modern, but the process is still traditional.
The Añejo is blended from both, giving you the depth of the tahona side and the consistency of the modern side in the same bottle. Most of the agave comes from their own fields, and they've been doing this their way for decades.
Why We Recommend It
At Tequila Brothers, we recommend Siete Leguas Añejo for customers who want:
- A traditional, additive-free Highlands añejo
- Rich oak character without losing the agave
- A bottle made with old-school methods including tahona
- One of the most respected names in proper tequila
If you've been drinking añejos and want to see what a properly made one tastes like, this is the bottle.

Tasting Notes
Nose
Cooked agave, vanilla, dried fruit, soft oak, and a hint of cinnamon.
Palate
Bold and rounded. Cooked agave up front, then spicy oak, vanilla, baked apple, and black pepper. Smooth mouthfeel, plenty going on.
Finish
Long and warming. Lingering agave with soft oak and a touch of dry spice.
What Makes This Tequila Special
How to Enjoy
Best neat or over a single large cube. Too good to drown in a cocktail, but if you want to mix it, keep things simple. An Añejo Old Fashioned does the job.
