Pasote Reposado Tequila
Overview
Pasote Reposado is a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila made in El Arenal, Jalisco, then rested in American oak. The oak softens things out and brings in a bit of vanilla and caramel, but the agave still does plenty of the talking.
Like the rest of the Pasote range, rainwater is used throughout production. The result is a reposado that's smooth enough for a neat pour and still has enough character to stand up in a cocktail.
The Distillery
Pasote is produced at NOM 1443, Destiladora del Valle de Tequila, in El Arenal, Jalisco. The distillery sits in the lowland tequila region and focuses on smaller batch, craft-led production rather than the high-volume supermarket approach.
The brand is built around doing things properly. Raw ingredients, a simple process, and letting the agave come through even once the oak has its say. You're getting a tequila with a bit more thought behind it than the usual shelf bottle.
Why We Recommend It
At Tequila Brothers, we recommend Pasote Reposado for customers who want:
- A smooth reposado with proper agave character still showing through
- American oak influence without the oak taking over
- A step up from your typical supermarket reposado
- A tequila that works neat, on ice, or in a margarita or old fashioned
If you like a reposado with a bit of balance, not all oak and sugar, this one is worth a spot on the shelf.
Production & Craftsmanship
| Agave | 100% Blue Weber agave |
| Agave Source | El Arenal, Jalisco |
| Water | Rainwater used in production |
| Distillation | Double distilled |
| Still | Copper pot |
| Additives | None |
| Aging | Rested in American oak (Reposado, 2 to 12 months per category standard) |
| NOM | 1443 (Destiladora del Valle de Tequila) |
Clean process, honest ingredients, no shortcuts. The oak adds softness and depth without covering up what makes Pasote a Pasote.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Cooked agave, vanilla, and soft oak, with a hint of citrus and black pepper in the background.
Palate
Agave sweetness leads, then vanilla, caramel, and a touch of spice from the oak. Smooth and rounded, but the agave is still front and centre.
Finish
Medium length, smooth, with lingering vanilla and a bit of pepper on the way out.
What Makes This Tequila Special
How to Enjoy
Great neat or over ice for a slow sip. Works a treat in a Reposado Margarita, Paloma, or Tequila Old Fashioned if you want the oak character to play nicely with other flavours. Hard to go wrong either way.
