Herradura Legend is a 100% Blue Weber agave añejo from Casa Herradura, matured for 12 months in new, heavily charred American white oak barrels that have been deeply grooved on the inside.

Those grooves give the tequila more toasted oak to work with. The result is rich and smooth, with caramel, vanilla, dried fruit and roasted agave, plus a bit of spice and smoke.

It sits at the top of the Herradura range, and it's built for sipping. A proper special occasion bottle.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Oak, roasted agave, caramel and vanilla, with dried fruit, citrus and a hint of smoke and spice.

Palate: Toasted oak, caramel and vanilla, with sweet roasted agave, dried fruit and a bit of spice. Rich and smooth.

Finish: Long and smooth, with lingering oak and sweetness.

Distillery Information

Casa Herradura has been making tequila in Amatitán, Jalisco since 1870, under NOM 1119. It's now part of the Brown-Forman family.

Herradura is one of the few big tequila houses that makes its own barrels, which is how it can do the grooved barrels used for Legend. It's also credited with creating the reposado and extra añejo categories.
