Arta Añejo comes from a single-family-run estate in Arenal, Jalisco, just down the road from the town of Tequila. Aged 18 to 30 months across Kentucky bourbon barrels and 180-litre American white oak — well past Mexico’s 12-month añejo minimum.

Rich amber colour, smooth and silky on the palate. Toasted apple, vanilla, and a touch of oak spice, with the agave still holding its own underneath.

Distillery Information

Arta is made at Corporación Ansan (NOM 1360) out in Los Valles, the lowland side of Jalisco. The agave comes from one family-run estate in Arenal, grown on the same land for generations and triple pot distilled in-house.

The brand is owned and run by Tony Mayer (from Colorado), who bought it in 2011 to honour his father. It's a small operation, and it shows in the extra time they take getting the aging right.
