Tasting Notes

Provenance
Jack Daniel Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, was registered in 1866, making it the oldest registered distillery in the United States. Jack Daniel learned to distil from Nathan "Nearest" Green, an enslaved man who went on to become Jack's head distiller once the business got going. Old No. 7 won gold at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, beating out 23 other whiskies for World's Best Whiskey, then went on to pick up more gold medals in 1905, 1913, 1914, 1915, 1954 and 1981.
