Beam's Choice 8 Year Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon, bottled in a Collector's Edition Volume XI featuring Bighorn Sheep Painting (Copy)

$229.00
Overview

This is a 1982 Jim Beam Kentucky Straight Bourbon, bottled in a Beam's Collector's Edition Volume XVIII decanter featuring a White-Tailed Deer painting by wildlife artist James Lockhart. Old-school Beam from the early 80s, in a decanter made to sit on display.

Volume XVIII came out after the US switched to metric, so this one is a standard 750ml. A proper bit of bourbon history, and a solid find for anyone who collects Jim Beam or vintage decanters.

Distillery Information

Beam’s Choice was an 8 year old bourbon from the James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. Through the 1970s, Beam released it in a run of Collector’s Edition decanters featuring reproductions of wildlife paintings by American artist James Lockhart. Volume XI was a set of three: the Bighorn Sheep, the Chipmunk and this one, the Pronghorn Antelope. This bottle dates to 1976 and comes in the 4/5 quart size used in the US before the switch to metric bottles.

Why we curate it

The White-Tailed Deer decanter is a proper bit of bourbon history. Early 80s Beam, a bottle that doubles as artwork, and not something you'll find at the big chains. If you collect Beam or vintage decanters, this one's worth grabbing.
