Distillery Information

Beam’s Choice was an 8 year old bourbon from the James B. Beam Distilling Co. in Clermont, Kentucky. Through the 1970s, Beam released it in a run of Collector’s Edition decanters featuring reproductions of wildlife paintings by American artist James Lockhart. Volume XI was a set of three: the Bighorn Sheep, the Chipmunk and this one, the Pronghorn Antelope. This bottle dates to 1976 and comes in the 4/5 quart size used in the US before the switch to metric bottles.

Why we curate it

The Bighorn Sheep decanter is a proper bit of bourbon history. An 8-year-old Beam from the 70s, a bottle that doubles as artwork, and not something you'll find at the big chains. Pair it with the Pronghorn Antelope, and you're two-thirds of the way to the full Volume XI set.
