Jack Daniel's 150th Anniversary Tennessee Whiskey Limited Edition (1l)

$579.00
Overview
Tennessee Whiskey · 1000ml

Jack Daniel’s registered its distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee in 1866, making it the oldest registered distillery in the US. To mark 150 years, the distillery released this limited edition in September 2016. Master Distiller Jeff Arnett had the coopers slow-toast the barrels as a nod to how they would have been charred back in 1866, then aged the whiskey up high in one of the oldest barrelhouses on the property.

It’s the same Old No. 7 grain recipe and charcoal mellowing every Jack gets, but barrelled and bottled at 100 proof. That extra strength and the slow-toasted barrels give it more depth than the standard bottle. Expect vanilla, caramel, butterscotch and toffee, with some fruit and a warm, toasty oak finish. It was a one-off for the anniversary, so once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Distillery Information

Jasper Newton “Jack” Daniel founded his distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, and registered it with the US government in 1866. It’s the country's oldest registered distillery and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Every drop of Jack is filtered through ten feet of sugar maple charcoal before it goes into the barrel. For the 150th, Master Distiller Jeff Arnett went back to the distillery’s roots with slow-toasted barrels and a higher bottling strength.
