Heaven's Door Straight Rye is a 100% rye mash bill whiskey, distilled in house, aged 6 to 8 years and finished in Amontillado sherry casks for up to six months. Bottled at 92 proof, it has the spice you'd expect from a rye, balanced out by dried fruit, honey and sweetness from the sherry finish.

Heaven's Door is co-created by Bob Dylan and distilled at the brand's own site in Pleasureville, Kentucky. The Straight Rye is the expression in the range that shows what a sherry cask finish can do to a full rye mash bill: more fruit and depth without losing the backbone.

Distillery Information

Heaven's Door was co-created by Bob Dylan and launched in 2018, with whiskey developer Ryan Perry and Marc Bushala, who was previously behind Angel's Envy Bourbon, involved in building the brand. It's backed by real distilling credentials: Heaven's Door now operates out of its own distillery on a 200-acre site along Six Mile Creek in Pleasureville, Kentucky, on land once owned by Squire Boone.

The site was formerly Six Mile Creek Distillery, with Ken Pierce serving as Master Distiller since 2016. While the brand started out sourcing and blending whiskey, it now produces its own spirit in house, including this Straight Rye.
