This one comes in smoked glass with a dark ceramic base, built to match what's inside. It's a blanco, but not a straightforward one. The agave is cooked the old way: in a pit oven dug into the ground and lined with firewood and volcanic stone, which is exactly where the smoke comes from.

Produced by Clase Azul Mexico (NOM 1416) in the Jalisco Highlands, same as the rest of the range. What's different here is the cook. Instead of the usual brick horno, the agave for Blanco Ahumado goes into a traditional pit oven, dug into the ground and lined with firewood and volcanic rock. It's an old-school method that's mostly been phased out across the industry, and it's exactly where the smoke comes from.

Every Clase Azul release doubles as a piece of craft work, and this one's no different. The smoked glass bottle and dark ceramic base are a direct nod to the process itself. The glass nods to the smoke, the ceramic nods to the volcanic stone used in the cook. It's a limited release, so once it's gone, it's gone.
