Glenfiddich 15 Year Old is the point in the range where the distillery's Solera vat process really makes itself known. Matured across three cask types: ex-bourbon, ex-sherry and new oak, the spirit is then married in a handcrafted Solera vat where a portion of the previous batch is always retained. The result is a whisky with more consistency and layered complexity than the age statement alone would suggest.

Rich and rounded, with warm cinnamon, dried fruit, baking spice and a sherry-driven sweetness that ties it all together. A proper step up from the 12 Year Old and one of the most reliably excellent bottles in the Speyside category.

Distillery Information

Glenfiddich has been distilled in Dufftown, Speyside, since 1887, founded by William Grant and still independently owned by the Grant family through William Grant & Sons today. The distillery draws its water from the Robbie Dhu spring, the same source it has used for over 130 years.

The 15 Year Old is where Glenfiddich's Solera vat process comes into its own. Inspired by the traditional method used in Spanish sherry bodegas, the Solera vat at Glenfiddich is never fully emptied: a portion of the previous batch is always retained, blending with the new spirit to build consistency and depth over time. It's a technique unique to Glenfiddich in the Scotch whisky category.
