Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey is a sour mash Tennessee Whiskey produced by Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery in Nashville, Tennessee. This wheated whiskey is a serial gold medal wnnier at every major competition around the world.

Crafted using the Lincoln County Process,  charcoal mellowing prior to maturation,  this expression delivers a smooth, rounded profile.  It is the exact recipe created  by the its founder in the 1800's. 

This wheated Tennessee Whiskey is mellowed through a bed of sugar maple charcoal and bottled at 91 proof. Unlike many Tennessee whiskies that use rye, the Green Brier formula relies on wheat to provide a softer, sweeter character, similar to a wheated bourbon.

Tasting Notes

Nose: malty, doughy, grain-forward with crisp apple and pear, opening up to clove, maple, and light baking spice.

Palate: light-bodied at 91 proof, with sweet wood sugars, oak, dry leather, green peppercorn, caramel with a touch of smoke, and blackberry/raspberry notes.

Finish: dry oak and leather with white pepper, brief sweetness giving way to lingering dry oak and warmth.
