Distillery Information

Blanton's comes from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky, America's oldest continuously operating distillery. The brand is named after Colonel Albert B. Blanton, who started at the distillery in 1897 and ran it from 1921 for most of 55 years. Back in 1984, Master Distiller Elmer T. Lee put Blanton's name on what's widely regarded as the first modern single barrel bourbon, setting the standard every single barrel release since has been chasing. Special Reserve, like every other Blanton's, is aged in Warehouse H, a metal-clad warehouse Blanton built after Prohibition that's known for maturing whiskey faster than the old brick warehouses.
