Lark No.151 Fire Trail Single Malt Whisky

$169.00
Overview
Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky · 700ml

Lark Fire Trail No. 151 is the entry point to Lark’s Signature range, and Lark calls it the purest take on their house style. It’s aged in Port and Sherry casks from Seppeltsfield in the Barossa, then finished in ex-Bourbon and American oak wine casks. Lark also smokes the water with Tasmanian applewood, which adds a light savoury edge.

It’s an easy-drinking single malt. Baked pear, caramel and citrus up front, then chocolate, vanilla and stewed fruit, with honey and hazelnut on the way out. Bottled at 41.5%, so it’s smooth and doesn’t bite. A good place to start if you’re getting into Aussie whisky, and still plenty there if you already know what you like.

Distillery Information

Lark is one of the original Tasmanian whisky distilleries and helped put Aussie single malt on the map. Fire Trail is distilled at Lark’s Pontville Distillery in Tasmania. The maturing casks come from Seppeltsfield Wines in the Barossa Valley, seasoned through Lark’s cask program with Australian PX, Apera and Muscadelle. It’s the first of three bottles in the Signature range, sitting below Devil’s Storm No. 183 and Ruby Abyss No. 285.
