Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Select Tennessee Whiskey by Bourbon Brothers
ONLY AVAILABLE FROM BOURBON BROTHERS
$169 (RRP $199)
Private Barrel · Jack Daniel's · Tennessee · 62.5% ABV · 750ml · 10 Years
Built with the Jack Daniel's team. Chosen barrel by barrel, proof by proof. Made for our customers and nobody else.
This bottle started at a table with the Jack Daniel's team. They put barrels in front of us and we tasted them. We compared barrels, then went back and compared them again at different proofs, because the same whiskey can change a lot a few points either side. It took a while. Some barrels were close, and a couple were very good. We kept going until one barrel at one strength stood clearly above the rest. That's the one in this box.
Jack Daniel's single barrels come from the upper levels of its barrelhouses. That's where Tennessee summers push the heat highest and the whiskey works hardest against the oak. It uses the same 80% corn, 12% malted barley and 8% rye mash bill as every Jack Daniel's, and the spirit was dripped through sugar maple charcoal before it went into new charred American oak. The standard Single Barrel Select is bottled at 47%. We settled on 62.5% because that's where this barrel had the most to say.
Upgrade Option

Shenks' Homestead Kentucky Sour Mash - 2025 release
$269 (RRP $289)
If the default is about a barrel we built, the upgrade is about a distillery with more history than almost anyone. Shenk's Homestead is one of only two annual releases in Michter's Legacy Series. It's made in limited quantities, allocated tightly, and gone quickly, and it has become one of the most sought-after annual bottlings Michter's puts out. It sits beside our Jack Daniel's barrel as a completely different kind of rare.
Shenk's is a Kentucky sour mash whiskey, and the 2025 edition gets a finish that makes it stand apart. After its initial ageing, it spends time in toasted, non-charred French oak barrels made from wood grown in the Vosges forest and air-dried for 24 months before the barrels were built. French oak brings a different kind of spice from American oak, less vanilla and more clove, cinnamon and dried fruit. McKee has said this finish helped bring out the rye character in the whiskey. It's bottled at 45.6%, so it's gentler than the Jack and built for slow sipping rather than power. Expect baking spice from start to finish, with toasted oak and a long, warm tail.
