Distillery Information

Glenmorangie has been distilling in Tain, in the Scottish Highlands, since 1843, using some of the tallest stills in Scotland to build a light, delicate spirit. The Original has always been the whisky that defines the distillery's house style.

In 2024, Glenmorangie's tasting team decided the whisky gained extra silkiness and complexity with two more years in the barrel, and reimagined The Original as a 12 year old rather than the previous 10. It's still matured exclusively in American white oak, just with more time to develop.
