
Who loves a cocktail? I know I do, especially a delicious bourbon one! The magic of bourbon is that depending on what bourbon you use, your cocktail can take on a whole new flavour profile.
Below I’ve given the recipe for three of my favourites.

Mint Julep
INGREDIENTS

75mL bourbon whiskey
-
15mL sugar syrup
-
Mint, to garnish
-
4 fresh mint leaves
-
Ice
METHOD
-
Fill a boston shaker with ice, and crush the ice.

Add mint leaves, bourbon whiskey and sugar syrup to a glass and stir.

Half fill glass with crushed ice, stir, then fill glass with more ice.
-
Garnish with mint leaves.

Maple Old Fashioned
INGREDIENTS

60mL American whiskey
-
15mL Maple Syrup
-
2 dashes of bitters
-
Ice
-
Orange twist, to garnish
METHOD:

Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake well.

Strain into a chilled old fashioned glass and garnish with an orange twist.
Whiskey Sour
INGREDIENTS:
-
60mL bourbon whiskey
-
30mL lemon juice
-
15mL sugar syrup
-
Half an egg white
-
Maraschino cherries, to garnish
-
Orange twist, to garnish
-
Ice
METHOD:
-
Add egg white, whiskey, lemon juice, sugar syrup to a cocktail shaker, and dry shake.

Add ice to the cocktail shaker, and wet shake.
-
Fill a short glass with ice, and strain drink into ice-filled glass.
-
Garnish with maraschino cherries and orange twist
