Siete Leguas Reposado Tequila 700ml
Overview
Siete Leguas Reposado is a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila made the traditional way in the Highlands town of Atotonilco el Alto, then rested in white oak barrels. Brick ovens, wooden tank fermentation with the agave fibers in the mix, and double distillation in copper pot stills.
Eight months in oak adds vanilla, caramel, and a bit of warm spice, but the agave still leads. A bold, properly made reposado that drinks smooth without losing its character.
The Distillery
NOM 1120 is Tequila Siete Leguas, with two distilleries on the same hill in Atotonilco el Alto. Fabrica el Centenario was built in 1952 and still uses a tahona stone wheel pulled by mules to crush the agave. Fabrica La Vencedora came along in 1984 and is slightly more modern, but the process is still traditional.
The Reposado is blended from both, giving you the depth of the tahona side and the consistency of the modern side in the same bottle. Most of the agave comes from their own fields, and they've been doing this their way for decades.
Why We Recommend It
At Tequila Brothers, we recommend Siete Leguas Reposado for customers who want:
- A traditional, additive-free Highlands reposado
- Bold agave character with light oak depth
- A bottle made with old-school methods including tahona
- One of the most respected names in proper tequila
If you like a reposado that brings real flavour without going too heavy on the oak, this one is a solid step up from the usual shelf bottles.
