Tasting Notes

Plata: Cooked agave and citrus peel, with herbal notes, light vanilla and gentle pepper. A rounded palate leads to a clean, lightly spiced finish.

Reposado: Cooked agave, vanilla, caramel and toasted oak on the nose. Sweet agave, butterscotch and oak spice follow, finishing with lingering vanilla and soft spice.

Añejo: Roasted agave, toasted oak, candied nuts and cinnamon aromas. Nutty caramel, pineapple and orange notes meet warm oak and baking spice, with a smooth, warming finish.

What sets this bottle apart

This bundle brings together three distinct levels of oak influence from the same producer: Plata rested for 45 days, Reposado aged approximately 11 months and Añejo aged 25 months. Each bottle is 750ml and 40% ABV, making the differences in flavour and texture straightforward to explore side by side.

Distillery Information

Casa Herradura was founded in 1870 in Amatitán, in the Tequila Valley of Jalisco, Mexico. All three expressions are produced at NOM 1119 from 100% Blue Weber agave, using brick-oven cooking, roller-mill extraction and double distillation in copper pot stills.

Who this bottle is for

For tequila enthusiasts exploring the Herradura range, cocktail makers seeking different agave-and-oak profiles, and whisky or bourbon drinkers curious about aged tequila. The three-expression selection also suits a gift for an adult tequila enthusiast.

How to enjoy

Compare small pours in the order Plata, Reposado, then Añejo to explore the increasing oak influence. Plata suits a Margarita or Paloma; Reposado works neatly in a Reposado Margarita or Tequila Old Fashioned; Añejo can be enjoyed neat or over a large ice cube.

Why we curate it

At Tequila Brothers Australia, we choose this trio for the clear progression it offers across the Herradura range. Fresh agave and citrus in Plata give way to vanilla and butterscotch in Reposado, followed by the deeper caramel, oak and spice of Añejo. It is a useful way to discover which style best suits your palate.
