Fox & Oden Straight Bourbon Whiskey
$179.00
Regular price $169.00Overview
Fox & Oden is one of those bottles that quietly punches above its weight. It's a blend of 8 and 15 year old straight bourbons sourced from MGP in Indiana, then brought together in Holland, Michigan by Coppercraft Distillery. Two different high rye mash bills, properly aged stock, and bottled at a serious 99 proof.
The result is a bourbon with real depth. Plenty of oak, caramel, and rye spice all working together, with the kind of complexity you only get from older whiskey. Not the cheapest bottle on the shelf, but for what's in the glass, it earns the price tag. A solid step up for anyone who's moved past entry-level bourbon and wants something with a bit of age behind it.
FYI: Fox & Oden and Coppercraft are both part of the same whiskey Group, CraftCo

What Sets This Bottle Apart
- A blend of 8 and 15 year old straight bourbons, properly aged stock
- Two different high rye mash bills (21% and 36% rye) blended together
- Sourced from MGP, one of the most respected sources of aged American whiskey
- Blended in Michigan by Coppercraft Distillery
- Bottled at 99 proof, a sweet spot for flavour
- Aged stock at a fair price point compared to other older bourbons
Provenance
Fox & Oden is based in Holland, Michigan, and is part of the CraftCo whiskey portfolio. They don't distil their own whiskey. Instead, they source aged stock from MGP in Indiana, the distillery behind a long list of well-regarded American whiskies, and have it blended down in Michigan at Coppercraft Distillery.
That approach lets them put together something with real age statement credibility without waiting fifteen years for their own barrels to come of age. The result is a properly aged blend that drinks like something a lot more expensive than it is.
Awards & Recognition
Who This Bottle Is For
- Bourbon drinkers ready to step past entry-level shelf bottles
- Fans of older, oak-forward bourbon with real depth
- High rye drinkers who want a bourbon with proper backbone
- Anyone after an aged blend without paying limited release prices
- Drinkers who appreciate quality MGP stock done well
Tasting Notes
Nose
Brown sugar, red fruit, and plenty of oak up front. A bit of nutmeg, butterscotch, and dried fig sitting underneath. Smells properly aged.
Palate
Salted caramel and cinnamon lead, with charred oak, leather, and warm baking spice carrying through. Rich, full, and well structured.
Finish
Warm and medium length. Red fruit, orange zest, almond, and oak fade slowly with a clean, slightly spicy close.
How to Enjoy
Best neat. Give it a minute in the glass and the oak and fruit start to open up. A few drops of water or a single large cube can soften the proof and bring the sweeter notes forward. Holds up well in a proper Old Fashioned if you want a cocktail with serious bourbon character.
Why We Curate It at Bourbon Brothers
Fox & Oden is one of those bottles that earns its spot for what's actually in the glass. A blend of 8 and 15 year old MGP stock, two high rye mash bills, bottled at 99 proof. It's properly aged, well put together, and drinks like a bourbon that costs a fair bit more. Solid step up from your usual shelf pick.
