The question is, what makes the best tequila? Ask five bartenders, and you'll get five answers. The Blanco purists say anything aged is a waste in a margarita. The Reposado crowd say it's the only one that hits the sweet spot. The Añejo people say you've never really had a margarita until you've had a slow one. Extra Anejo, well, that's just decadence.
So we built the kit to settle it. Four tequilas, one of each style. Cointreau, lime juice, a cocktail shaker, and a printed scoring card. Bring a friend, make four margaritas, and vote at the end. Nobody picks the one they thought they would.
What's Inside the Box?
4 x 50ml tequilas — one of each style:
- Código 1530 Blanco – Bright, peppery, agave-forward — the classic margarita base
- Terralta Reposado – Vanilla and oak layered over fresh agave — the crowd-pleaser
- Don Julio Añejo – Deep, smooth, longer finish — the slow margarita
- Herradura Ultra Extra Añejo – Rich, complex, almost cognac-like — the wildcard
Everything else you need:
- 350ml Cointreau – The original triple sec, the non-negotiable margarita ingredient
- Fresh lime juice
- Printed Margarita Recipe Card
How It Works
The scoring card inside the box has a space for each round. Make one margarita per tequila, keep the recipe identical, and change only the spirit. Score each one. Vote at the end. The results will surprise you; that's the whole point.
