This one's a proper crossover. Corazon de Agave teamed up with Buffalo Trace and aged this anejo for at least 22 months in barrels that spent 22 years holding Buffalo Trace bourbon. That's where the "Old 22" name comes from, no marketing spin required.

Made from 100% Blue Weber agave in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, this tequila picks up real bourbon character from the barrel: vanilla, caramel, oak and a bit of dark chocolate. If you like your tequila with a whiskey lean, this is worth grabbing.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Fresh and inviting, hints of raw apple, dried plum and red fruit mingle with honey, jasmine, chocolate and eucalyptus

Palate: Wood, caramel, almond, chocolate notes, and a taste of ripe plum

Finish: Long and smooth, with a hit of light roasted coffee.

Distillery Information

Made at Casa San Matías (NOM 1103) in the Los Altos highlands of Jalisco, one of the more respected producers in the region. Corazon de Agave uses the Expresiones del Corazón line to experiment with different barrel finishes, and the Buffalo Trace collaboration is one of the most sought after in the range.

Each bottle comes with a cork stopper and a handwritten label noting the barrel, bottle number and bottling date, so no two runs are quite the same.
