Reposado XR takes El Cristiano's usual reposado and pushes it further, resting for 11 months across two different barrel types. Half the blend sits in ex-bourbon American oak, the other half in ex-red wine French oak, then the two are brought together.

The result sits in its own category. Bright gold in colour, sweeter and more layered than a standard reposado, with the wine barrels adding a fruitiness you won't find in most tequilas at this style.

Distillery Information

El Cristiano is made at Casa Tequilera de Arandas (NOM 1499) in Arandas, in the heart of the Jalisco Highlands. The brand was started by a group of mates with a shared love of tequila and Mexico, working with third-generation maestro tequileros who know the region inside out.

It's an additive-free operation from start to finish, deep well water, native yeast fermentation without fibre, and a proper double distillation through stainless pot stills with copper coil. A portion of every bottle sold goes back into the local community through the brand's foundation work in Arandas.
