Overview

El Cristiano Blanco is a 100% Blue Weber agave tequila from the highlands of Arandas, Jalisco, made without a single additive. The agave is left in the ground for at least six years before harvest, well past what most brands bother with, so the sugars are fully developed before it ever hits the still.

Bottled straight after double distillation with no time in oak, so what you taste is the agave itself. Clean and full-bodied, with a bit of pepper and spice sitting under the sweetness.

Deep well water and a longer than usual wait for mature agave give this blanco more depth than most in its class.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Full body with bright, silver hues and defined legs. 

Nose: Subtly sweet cooked agave aromas with hints of butter, notes of mature fruit, and a spicy touch with hints of bay leaf and rosemary. 

Palate: full mouth roundness, earthy and sweet with notes of mature fruit, cooked, and fresh agave.​

Finish: Smooth with a light spicy edge that lingers.

Distillery Information

El Cristiano is made at Casa Tequilera de Arandas (NOM 1499) in Arandas, in the heart of the Jalisco Highlands. The brand was started by a group of mates with a shared love of tequila and Mexico, working with third-generation maestro tequileros who know the region inside out.

It's an additive-free operation from start to finish, deep well water, native yeast fermentation without fibre, and a proper double distillation through stainless pot stills with copper coil. A portion of every bottle sold goes back into the local community through the brand's foundation work in Arandas.

How to enjoy
