Very Old Barton 100 Proof is a bold expression of classic Kentucky bourbon heritage, distilled and matured at the historic Barton 1792 Distillery in Bardstown. Owned by the Sazerac Company, this release showcases the strength, balance, and craftsmanship that have made Barton a trusted name in bourbon since 1879.
Bottled at a robust 50% ABV (100 proof) and aged a minimum of four years in new charred American oak, this whiskey is built for drinkers who enjoy a fuller flavour and deeper character. Its mash bill of 75% corn, 15% rye, and 10% malted barley ensures a rich backbone of sweetness, subtle spice, and smoothness.
The nose opens with toasted oak, caramel, and vanilla. On the palate, layers of sweet corn, baking spice, and dried fruit give way to charred oak and a hint of pepper. The finish is long, warming, and satisfyingly bold – perfect for sipping neat or over ice.
