The GlenAllachie Meikle Tòir “The Original” is a bold reimagining of peated Scotch from Speyside—a region not typically known for smoke. Crafted by whisky legend Billy Walker, this expression is peated to 35ppm using mainland peat, which imparts a gentler, sweeter smoke compared to Islay’s maritime style. It's matured in a mix of first-fill bourbon, American virgin oak, and rye casks, giving it impressive depth and complexity.
On the nose, you’re greeted with wafts of honeyed peat smoke, toasted almonds, and a touch of orchard fruit. The palate of the GlenAllachie Meikle Tòir unfolds with smoked vanilla, dark chocolate, cinnamon spice, and an earthy richness. The finish is long, warming, and subtly smoky—inviting another sip without overwhelming the senses.
Bottled at 50% ABV with no chill filtration and natural colour, GlenAllachie Meikle Tòir “The Original” is part of GlenAllachie’s new peated range—a project aimed at marrying traditional Highland peat character with GlenAllachie’s signature richness and wood-forward approach.
