History
The Tequila Espresso Martini is a bold reimagining of the modern classic invented by British bartender Dick Bradsell in London in 1983, originally crafted with vodka at the request of a young model who asked for something to "wake me up and mess me up." The tequila variation emerged as the global cocktail renaissance of the 2000s and 2010s pushed bartenders to explore agave spirits beyond the margarita, with reposado and añejo tequilas proving a natural partner to espresso's bitter, roasted intensity.
