Cincoro is made in the Highlands of Jalisco using 100% Blue Weber agave. The brand was founded by NBA legend Michael Jordan and a group of five friends, four of whom are NBA team owners. From the start, the focus was on making a serious sipping tequila rather than just slapping a celebrity name on a bottle.

The agave is highland-grown at altitude, where the plants take longer to mature and pick up more sugar. Cincoro uses agave from a mix of mountain Highland and Lowland fields, which is part of the house style. Slow cooked, double distilled, and aged in oak across the range.

Cincoro launched in 2019. The name comes from "cinco" (five) and "oro" (gold), a nod to the five founders. Michael Jordan put it together with NBA team owners Wes Edens, Jeanie Buss, Wyc Grousbeck, and Emilia Fazzalari. They spent two years tasting hundreds of samples before settling on the liquid that became Cincoro.
