The GlenDronach Cask Strength Batch 11 is a powerful showcase of the distillery’s renowned sherry-matured style, bottled at natural cask strength without chill filtration or added color. This release continues GlenDronach’s tradition of marrying Highland richness with the influence of exceptional sherry casks, offering whisky lovers an intense yet balanced experience.
Batch 11 is matured in a combination of Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks, imparting deep layers of fruit, spice, and oak. On the nose, it bursts with dark cherries, stewed plums, and raisins, wrapped in rich molasses and cocoa. The palate is bold and full-bodied, delivering waves of chocolate-dipped figs, blackcurrant jam, spiced orange, and roasted coffee, all balanced by sherry sweetness and a backbone of oak. At its natural cask strength (often well above 58% ABV), the whisky delivers an unrestrained intensity, yet a splash of water reveals softer notes of vanilla, honey, and nutmeg.
The finish is long, warming, and complex, leaving lingering impressions of dark fruit, leather, and toasted spice.
