The untamed world of Ardbeg Alligator 2011 Untamed Release, a remarkable Islay single malt whisky that pushes the boundaries of flavour. Crafted with passion and precision by Ardbeg, this whisky embodies the essence of the untamed Islay spirit.
The general release of Ardbeg Alligator much anticipated Ardbeg Committee Release. the Ardbeg Alligator isnamed after the high level of char on the inside of some of the casks used for maturation, which makes the wood look like alligator skin. This Islay gator has a straw-amber complexion, and a nose of sweet caramel, tropical fruit and a hint of pine.
The Ardbeg Alligator palate is very different to the house style with lots of chewy oak and spicy rich ginger, caramel nougat and a long elegant finish which gave me memories of rooms layered with clouds of cigar smoke and an open fire.
