Catoctin Creek Rabble Rouser Bottled in Bond Rye Whiskey
Overview
Rabble Rouser is Catoctin Creek's flagship Bottled in Bond release. Distilled in one season by one distiller, aged in a federally bonded warehouse, and bottled at exactly 100 proof. Built to the original 1897 Bottled in Bond standard, made from 100% organic rye, and given the kind of extended time in oak that turns a good rye into a serious one.
The result is a rye with real depth and structure. Plenty of pepper and baking spice up front, layered with caramel, dark fruit, and toasted oak from longer barrel time. A proper step up for anyone who already knows their way around rye and wants something with credentials behind it.
Tasting Notes
Nose
Rich rye spice with toasted oak, vanilla, and dried fruit underneath. Concentrated and full from the extended barrel time.
Palate
Black pepper and baking spice lead, layered with caramel, oak, and a touch of dark chocolate and citrus. Big, full, and well structured.
Finish
Long and warming. Spice, oak, and sweetness fade slowly with a peppery, slightly drying close.

Provenance
Catoctin Creek Distilling Company was founded in 2009 by Becky and Scott Harris in Purcellville, Virginia. It was the first legal distillery in Loudoun County since before Prohibition, with Becky taking on the role of master distiller and becoming one of the few women heading up an American whiskey distillery at the time.
Rabble Rouser is the distillery's flagship Bottled in Bond release. Same 100% organic rye that built the Roundstone name, made to the strict requirements of the Bottled in Bond Act, and bottled at 100 proof. A genuine craft rye made the proper way.
Awards & Recognition
Who This Bottle Is For
- Rye drinkers who appreciate the Bottled in Bond standard
- Fans of true 100% rye, not high rye bourbon
- Drinkers who like properly aged, single-distillery whiskey
- Anyone after an organic, small-batch craft rye with serious backbone
- Cocktail makers who want a 100 proof rye that stands up in a glass
How to Enjoy
Best neat to start. Give it a minute in the glass and the spice and oak start to open up. A few drops of water can soften the proof and bring the sweeter notes forward. Holds up brilliantly in a Manhattan or Old Fashioned if you want a cocktail with serious rye character.
Why We Curate It at Bourbon Brothers
Catoctin Creek Rabble Rouser Bottled in Bond is a properly built craft rye made the old way. 100% organic rye, single distillery, single season, 100 proof in the bottle. It earns its spot for what's actually in the glass: a rye with real credentials behind it. One worth having on the shelf if you take your rye seriously.
